From July 10th to 12th we're back in the water! The Formula Kite Spain Series will celebrate the first event of the 2020 season in the waters of the Alarcón reservoir with the help of the Club Kitesurf Centro. With the predictable and expected return to normal activity in Spain, the FKSS will also return with one of the most anticipated races of the season, which hosts CKSC in the town of Valverde del Jucar (Cuenca).
Alarcón opens the FKSS 2020. The race in the reservoir was the novelty of the 2019 season and was extraordinarily well received by the sailors who found flat water and thermal winds to compete in a 'spot' that was unknown to most and therefore very challenging. In a few days, registration will open for the sailors who have already shown their excitement at seeing the season's calendar begin to materialise with the Valverde del Júcar race.
Sergio W. Smit, General Manager of FKSS, explains: "We are pleased to announce that Alarcón is opening FKSS 2020. The team's work has been intense over the last few weeks, but we are very excited to be able to celebrate the first stop of this season in Valverde del Júcar, always under the responsibility and prudence that circumstances demand".
Vicente Ferrís, president of the CKSC, explains: "We are especially excited to be able to open the 2020 FKSS championship, even though in theory ours was the third event. After the previous postponements we are very excited to help give the final push to sailing in 2020 and to start the Formula Kite races at national level. After the great event of 2019 bringing the FKSS to Alarcón with our first national race we are looking forward to making this already unforgettable event even more interesting for those who have already been with us and those who will be coming for the first time this year.
